Tuft the World carries professional tufting machines for all skill levels — from beginner-friendly electric guns to industrial-grade pneumatic machines. Choose between cut pile (creates a trimmed, velvet-like surface), loop pile (uncut loops for a textured, durable look), or cut & loop machines that do both.

Every Tuft the World machine runs on a precision Japanese motor — exceptionally durable and built for long-term use.

The Duo (from $199) is our most popular beginner machine. It comes in three pile heights — Low ($199, 7–18mm), Medium ($225, 20–30mm), and High ($260, 35–45mm) — so you can choose the look you want from the start. All three variants switch freely between cut and loop pile, making The Duo the most versatile option for new tufters. It's lightweight, easy to learn on, and runs on a standard outlet.

The AK5 ($250) is the quiet option. Its Japanese brushless motor is noticeably quieter than comparable machines — ideal for apartments, late-night tufting, or shared workspaces. It includes a digital speed dial for on-the-fly speed control and a front-mounted LED light for detailed work. Like The Duo, it does both cut and loop pile. Note: the AK5 has a fixed pile height of 16mm and cannot be adjusted to different heights.

The AK-III Industrial ($599) is a pneumatic machine for advanced tufters. It requires an air compressor but unlocks high-pile shag at 20mm and above — the deeply textured, sculptural pieces that electric machines simply can't produce. Best suited for large-format work, experienced tufters, and professional commissions.
