PolyTuft Polyester Yarn

Industry-tested for rug tufting. PolyTuft isn't a craft yarn we've repurposed — it's a production tufting yarn, engineered from the start to run through cut-pile and loop-pile machines. It's the same construction used in commercial rug production, and it's been tested on the floor before it ever got to us.

Cationic-dyeable polyester (CDP), core spun, in 26 ultra-vivid colors. It holds saturated color far better than natural fibers, resists fading, and won't shed the way wool does — which makes it a great pick for bold graphic work, high-traffic pieces, and anything that has to stay bright.

• 100% cationic-dyeable polyester (CDP), core spun
• 3 Nm/3 · 990/3 Tex · 3-ply · 120 TPM twist
• Approx. 500 g per cone (approx. 500 m)
• Runs single or double strand on standard cut-pile and loop-pile tufting machines
• Low pile 7–18 mm; high pile 20–60 mm (high pile uses roughly 2–3× the yarn)
• 26 colors

Care

Blot spills right away, then spot clean with lukewarm water and a little mild detergent and let it air dry. Don't machine wash a finished rug — the glued backing won't survive it. Keep finished pieces out of prolonged direct sunlight.
