Originally from West Texas, Tim Eads lives in Philadelphia. He is an artist, designer, and master printer in Philadelphia. He received his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and has taught regularly at Penland School of Craft and Tyler School of Art. Recent exhibitions include Pentimenti Gallery, Philadelphia, PA; Delaware Art Museum, The Delaware Center for Contemporary Art, Wilmington, DE. Tim's work is held in several public and private collections. He is the founder of Tuft the World.
With a background as a carpet designer, Kate Garman is interested in all things involving fringe, the grid and repetition. She received her MFA at Tyler School of Art, within their Fiber & Material Studies program. You can see her work at kategarman.com or on Instagram @kate_garman. She manages the marketing team at Tuft the World and is part of our Education department.
Chrissy Scolaro received her MFA in Sculpture from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2016 and has been an artist in residence at The Hambidge Center for Creative Arts and Sciences, Haystack Mountain School of Craft and the Wassaic Project. She is co-director of FJORD Gallery, an artist-run gallery space founded in 2012 that regularly curates exhibitions and public programming. She lives in Philadelphia, where she makes functional ceramics as @kunkaclay and manages the fulfillment department at Tuft the World.
Eliza is an interdisciplinary artist with a focus in community building and relational drawing. In 2020 she received her BA in Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania. As an emerging artist, Eliza uses physical media to delineate self identity within a larger collective body. She wears many hats as a product designer, machine technician, and teacher here at Tuft the World. Her goal is to share knowledge and to promote accessibility to all fields of education.
Vivien Wisereceived an MFA in Fibers and Material Studies from the Tyler School of Art in 2020, and a BFA in Fibers from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2014. Originally from Chicago, she is an avid quilter, bicyclist, and lover of breakfast. Vivien has taught workshops at the Abington Art Center, Vox Populi Gallery, Fabric Workshop and Museum, Chicago Public Library, and Tyler School of Art, among others. Vivien was previously the Assistant Director of a Farm & Wilderness summer camp in Vermont and is currently the Education Coordinator at Tuft the World. Grace is a multimedia artist with a B.S. in Community Development from the Tyler School of Art. Her interests include community arts, fiber arts and video art. Grace is drawn to and has closely studied how humans utilize public spaces: the merging of culture, ecology, and design into creative placemaking/storytelling. Through her process of understanding public engagement, she explores themes of empowerment, interconnection of past and present, and coexistence. Grace is currently the Education Studio Assistant at Tuft the World.
